My first trip to the Brecon Beacons, what will now be the first of many! The planned walk for Saturday of Pen y Fan and Fan y Big, was sidelined because the clouds were low and it was pretty miserable up on the higher hills.
So we took the "fair weather option" and went south up onto a chilly Pant y Creugiau (565m) and along the ridge to Pen Rhiw-calch before descending down to the Talybont Reservoir. We returned through the forest along the Beacons Way with the last 400m being a climb of 100m past some impressive waterfalls. A good workout, around 14km.

Trying to find another opportunity to get back there as soon as possible and this time, weather permitting, a chance to reach Pen y Fan.
